DORO Proves New York City Why She Is The Queen Of Metal!

Last Monday, February 4, the Queen Of Metal Doro Pesch performed at B.B. King right in the heart of Times Square in New York City. As usual, Doro lit up the entire venue as soon as she took center stage with her phenomenal band. Support on this show came from Sister Sin and Flames Of Fury.

Since we are all way too focused on Doro's voice and stage presence (because she rocks), it is only fair that we mention her band mates before we continue. Doro's band consists of: the great Johnny Dee on drums, Italian music excellency Luca Princiotta on guitar and keyboards, the one and only Nick Douglas on bass, and Bas Maas on guitars.

OK, now back to Doro. To question Doro's musical excellence is blasphemous and should be illegal in all five continents. Doro might be 48 years old, but she has more energy than a lot of young musicians out there. Her inarguable charm and charisma while on stage is not to be ignored, and we love how she is constantly romancing her crowd in the most genuine way and telling them over and over again "Ich liebe dich" (I love you, in German). It is safe to assume, that no one leaves a Doro show without a big smile and with their soul full of Metal.

In support of her latest record 'Raise Your Fist' (available now via Nuclear Blast Records), Doro and her crew brought with them a very well grounded set list. Not only did Doro sing some classic songs from her former band WARLOCK such as "I Rule the Ruins", "Burning the Witches", "Fight for Rock", and "All We Are", but she also whaled her song "Hero" plus a cover of "Breaking the Law" by Judas Priest. She finalized her memorable set with "Love Me in Black".
